How to lose weight on a Paleo Diet

The first thing you need to be clear on is your motivation for losing weight and your goals. Define what success looks like for you, and be sure that it’s realistic and physiologically possible. For example, you may be able to sustain ripped abs for a time, but you will rebound and not be able to sustain it.

Next, you must have intrinsic motivation because you love it, not because you hate your body.

Lastly, determine which things you do for fun and which things you do for fat loss.

The How:

Simplify your diet. If your goal is to lose fat, make your meals as simple as possible. For example, just eat meat and vegetables. NO paleo treats. When foods are hyper-palatable, you will tend to overeat because you are batch-cooking them.

Don’t drink your calories, even if it is a trendy Bulletproof Coffee. Chew all of your food, every single calorie. Chew every single calorie. Chew all of your food.

Don’t snack. You want to get all of your calories through three square meals a day. If you’re hungry outside meal times, you are not eating enough fat.

Stop working out. Yes, you heard that right. But, do walk like a vagabond, at least 30 minutes a day. If you are feeling energetic, you can also add in some sprints and weightlifting.

Sleep enough. Poor sleep can undo all your other efforts, if you are not sleeping properly. It will totally halt your fat loss if you are not sleeping well. 7 is the bare minimum. 8 is better. You might need even more.

Manage stress. Stress is related to cortisol. If you have stubborn belly fat, you might have a bit too much cortisol. Make time for mindfulness meditation each day.

Focus on getting really healthy. Find your baseline and any hidden stressors. Fat will just fall off when you focus on health.
