Doing a test that requires a blood draw is a bit more involved than collecting saliva, urine or stool at home.

The main difference is you’re going to have to visit somewhere capable of drawing blood.

Here’s how it works:

1. Place an order for the test online.
2. The manufacturer of the test, e.g. Genova Diagnostics sends out a "speciality lab kit" to your shipping address.
3. Take this kit to any blood draw center, e.g. Quest.
4. Quest will draw the blood and possibly charge you a small fee.
5. Quest then sends your sample via FedEx to Genova.
6. Genova runs the test and the results come back to me electronically.
7. I will immediately forward the results to you.
